Some information about my Ibex
What's an Ibex? A question I get asked a lot! Even the most obsessed petrolhead could be forgiven for not knowing about these vehicles, since they are pretty rare. There are probably around one hundred in existence.
I've been waylaid in carparks by the drivers of everything from rusty old lorries to brand new Ferraris, with questions about the car. I've met other owners (or even the parents of other owners), 4x4 enthusiasts, and I've been asked about 'that big Suzuki' by petrol station staff and about 'my odd looking G-Wagen' by a G-Wagen driver :-)
An Ibex is a highly specialised four wheel drive all terrain vehicle, with an extremely strong spaceframe chassis/body, and usually Land Rover mechanicals.
... and what's a 1Bex?
I've never been one for naming my cars. As a wise internet friend commented - you shouldn't be animistic about your cars, they don't like it! There's a typo that crept in somewhere in the VOSA/SVA/DVLA paperchain, that named my SWB as '1Bex' rather than 'Ibex' on the V5. When I bought the second Ibex, I remembered the typo, and it naturally became known as 2Bex.
